I have chosen the poem "America" by Claude McKay. In this poem the poet shares his experiences and troubles he had to face while living in America being a non-American. He states what kind of difficulties he had to face living here. By writing "her bigness sweeps my being like a flood", he refers that for non-Americans who usually come from small countries find America very big and its colossal cities make them unimportant and invisible. But no matter how hard the country and its busy cities tries to discourage the poet, the poet still stands strong and he is not affected by its hatred.
This poem gives me inspiration to adjust and to not to be weak in this country as I am also a non-American. I was also overwhelmed by the colossal cities and busy life in here but now I have learned to get used to it.

Entry#3
I have chosen the poem by W.H. Auden for my poem essay because when i read that poem i remembered the story of Icarus i had heard at childhood and realized how other views existed which i could not figure out when I was child.
The poem is about everyday world where everyday many people suffer from different problems but other people are forced to be spectators of their suffering because they can not do anything and they have their own things to do.In that poem, when Icarus fell to the water, many people were around there but they could not help him because they had their own business to mind. The poem also tells us that no one wants the bad things to happen but it is the rule of nature, that when someone is walking by a road or just sitting in the window, there might be other people who are suffering.
